University of Maine Cooperative Extension is your doorway to University of Maine expertise. For more than 100 years, we've been putting university research to work in homes, businesses, farms, and communities--in every corner of Maine. Our educational efforts focus on the Maine Food System, Positive Youth Development, and Community and Economic Development. UMaine Extension helps support, and grow the food-based economy across the entire state of Maine. It is the only entity in our state that touches every aspect of the Maine Food System, where policy, research, production, processing, commerce, nutrition, and food security and safety are integral and interrelated.
